The announcement that Justin Timberlake would be performing for Super Bowl LII halftime was met with mixed reviews.
Some were excited; others were pissed that JT was getting another opportunity after Janet Jackson was banned by the NFL for the duo’s nipple baring performance back in 2004.
Not so fast, says the NFL. The league tells TMZ Sports that there is nothing officially banning Miss Jackson from performing at the Super Bowl. Despite that, Jackson has not worked with the NFL since the incident leading many to speculate that she’s been blackballed, regardless of an official policy stating such.
However, it is not out of the question that JT could bring her on as a guest performer.
An NFL spokesperson states,
That’s not a “yes” but that’s not a “no” either.
Do you think Miss Jackson should consider gracing the field with her presence or should she let sleeping dogs lie?
