Okoye, Ayo and Aneka, the Dora Milaje Warriors of Wakanda, are set to get their own Marvel comic book spinoff titled In Wakanda Forever. This adventure narrative, comic book fans will notice that King T’challa’s protection will have traveled to New York to “investigate a threat to national security.” via Vogue. In the process of investigating, the Wakanda Warriors from the looks of the illustrations will receive the assistance of Spiderman (Peter Parker) during combat.
“Now you’re going to see the Dora Miljae for the first time as an independent entity; they’re not under the shadow of the throne.” says Okorafor.
Written by author Nnedi Okorafor, with illustrations drawn by Alberto Jiménez Alburquerque and Terry Dodson, “the three-part comic will shed new light on the heroes who have become fan favorites.” via Vogue.
Okorafor, who also wrote her first book Marvel, Black Panther: Long Live the King, last year stated she likes to write about Africa that she invasions will come to fruition. The comic will deliberately showcase the humanity of the Dora Milaje as ordinary people with complexities. Designed to make the fan favorite warriors increasingly relatable; as opposed to one-dimensional “elite warriors with the ability to take down super-villains”.

This comic series will surely be an inspiration for young Black African/African-American girls, women and males that are in support of Black Queens dominating in reality, the silver screen or in the comics. Wakanda Forever!
