Attorneys for Suge Knight have been indicted on charges including conspiring to bribe a witness in his upcoming murder trial.
ABC 7 News reports that attorneys Matthew Fletcher and Thaddeus Culpepper were charged with three felony counts in connection with the upcoming trial.
In the weeks following Knight’s arrest, Fletcher is accused of trying to pay off people who could provide favorable testimony at trial. In one instance, Fletcher allegedly told Knight it would take about $20,000 to $25,000 to secure his freedom, according to the indictment.
Culpepper allegedly arranged to have a confidential informant say that he would provide false testimony, the indictment said.
Knight is currently in custody as he awaits a March 12 pre-trial date for running over two men with his car in January 2015, killing one, in Compton. Knight’s most notable associate, the late Tupac Shakur, is currently the subject of USA Network’s limited series Unsolved: The Murders of Tupac and Notorious B.I.G.
Shakur’s surviving step-brother Mopreme Shakur, who served as a consultant on the series, told BSO in a recent interview that his brother is still alive.
