Following the incident with former LSU running back Derrius Guice, the NFL has released a statement early Thursday according to ESPN.
“A question such as that is completely inappropriate and wholly contrary to league workplace policies, the NFL and its clubs are committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all employees in a manner that is consistent with our commitment to diversity and inclusion, state and federal laws and the CBA. We are looking into the matter.”
Reports say this isn’t the first time this has happened, but today the NFL released this statement. What about the previous cases, such as, Atlanta Falcons assistant coach Marquand Manuel asking Eli Apple if he is gay. Manuel would later apologize, but in 2010, Jeff Ireland who was the Dolphins GM asked Dez Bryant whether his mom was a prostitute. Clearly, this is an NFL thing or something that takes place during the Combine.
Will the NFL really take a stand in this regard or will this happen again in the near future?
