With the NBA Draft coming up tomorrow, teams are cutting their shortlist of prospects to a select few before tomorrow’s big day. One of the teams that are preparing their shortlist for the draft is the Atlanta Hawks. The Hawks were the worst team in the Eastern Conference last season, going 24-58 and are in desperate need of talent. Going into the draft, the Hawks sit at number three and are in need of talent at multiple positions. One prospect that is on the Hawks radar in the draft is European teenage star and Real Madrid player Luka Doncic. Doncic, who is 19, is the youngest EuroLeague MVP ever and has been on top of team’s draft boards for months. According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Doncic has moved to the top of Atlanta’s draft list if they don’t trade the pick.
Luka Doncic has moved to forefront of Atlanta’s internal conversation on the third overall pick in Thursday’s NBA Draft, league sources tell ESPN. Michigan State’s Jaren Jackson and Duke’s Marvin Bagley (if Kings pass on Bagley at No. 2) remain in contention for No. 3.

The Hawks have the 19th and 30th pick along with the third pick in the draft and look to improve through the draft or through trade. Having Doncic on board would be a welcomed site in Atlanta and would be a nice piece to put next to Dennis Schroder. The 6’8 play making guard averaged 14 points, five rebounds, and four assists in EuroLeague Liga ACB and is one of the most intriguing prospects in the draft. Scouts say Doncic has the talent to be a potential number one pick and the highlight tapes back up those statements. The stigma against European players is persuading the top two team from pulling the trigger, so if Doncic is still on the board at three, expect the Hawks to take him.
