Miami Heat’s star Dion Waiters missed a lot of the 2017-18 NBA season due to a lingering ankle injury. This season Waiters is confident that the Heat can compete for the Eastern crown since LeBron James headed to West to the Los Angeles Lakers.
TMZ Sports caught up with Waiters,
“This year, the East is wide open,” Waiters says … “So, why not us?!”
At this point, everyone has the confidence to be the team that represents the East for a championship. We’re expecting a lot from Waiters as he can score with the best of them. Last season the Heat finished in the 8th seed and were knocked off by the Philadelphia 76ers. We’ll see how far this team goes with a healthy team and if they can compete in the East as a true contender.
