You might remember Kermit Washington (no relation) from his 26-game suspension after he knocked out Rudy Tomjanovich like Craig knocked out Deebo in Friday.
Once upon a time, on December 9, 1977, Rudy T. learned a very, very, valuable lesson from the proverbs of the Black community:
Run-eth Up, Get Done-eth Up” [end quote]
Coming into today, this was (unfortunately) Kermit’s career defining moment, and his personal beginning point for his own documentary, Redemption.
However, according to TMZ Sports, Kermit is probably going to have to re-work some of those old dates on his redemption tour.
Washington, 66, got sentenced to 6 years in prison and was ordered to pay back nearly $1 million in restitution to a bunch of African charities that he stole money from over the last few years.
Officials say that Washington used his fame to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars to fund a lavish lifestyle, shopping sprees, and his plastic surgeries.
Washington was the 5th overall pick in the 1973 Draft and he played for the Lakers, Boston, San Diego* Clippers, Blazers, and the Golden State Warriors throughout his 14-year career.
In 1980, Kermit was even an NBA All-star (after the whole fighting thing).
In 2018…Kermit is the property of the State of Missouri.
Also, hats-off to whatever reporter conducted this impromptu interview of Rudy Tomjanovich with TMZ. Lucky he didn’t swing on you for speaking Kermit’s name right to his face.
You guys truly are The Messy Zone.
