According to Sporting News, Paul George says he had arthroscopic knee surgery and he had to get 18 to 20 ounces of blood removed from his left elbow.
PG13 said he had been dealing with that elbow all last season:
That was causing a lot of frustration with shooting and playing.
To be able to shoot again, to be able to feel confident in my shot, to not have that on my mind, playing on the court … I’m great going forward.
Paul George signed a surprising max extension with the Thunder on the first day of July during free agency for four years, $137 million.
Not surprising because it was a max deal, but surprising because experts did not believe that he liked playing with Russel Westbrook and wanted to sign with a team that has a less ball-dominate point guard.
George averaged 21.9 last year with the bum elbow. Maybe he’ll be able to put up some bigger numbers next year with Melo gone and a year of chemistry with Russ under his belt.
