Patriots Linebacker Jerod Mayo’s English bulldog Knox was missing since June and it has now been revealed that he was found dead at a trainer’s house in Rhode Island. The Rhode Island SPCA found the dog and discovered that the trainer had been hiding it. The dog was found dead in a trash bag in a closet.
The SPCA released a statement regarding the dog’s death and the trainer being held responsible. It turns out that Amelia Ferreira, the trainer, kept the dead body for months and hid it from police.
“Knox died while in the custody of the trainer, Amelia Ferreira. Ferreira is being charged by the Cranston Police Department, with one count of Obstruction, for concealing evidence relevant to this investigation. Evidence revealed that Ferreira has known the whereabouts of Knox’s deceased body for several weeks and intentionally concealed his body from authorities. Cause of death is currently unknown, and additional charges relating to animal cruelty may follow, pending the results of a necropsy.”
According to Boston.com, Ferreira initially told Mayo that the dog ran away while walking it at the park. The second lie was that the dog ran away from its crate.
Mayo took to Instagram to address the death of Knox and the disgusting act by Ferreira. Flip the page for the post.
