Earlier this week, reports were surfacing that Nick Foles would be the starting QB for the Eagless in Week 1 at home against the Falcons. Head Coach Doug Pederson is now blasting media outlets for stating that Foles would be the starter.
In today’s press conference, Pederson opened things up by saying “First of all, I appreciate y’all putting words in my mouth this week.” (Via NBC 10 Philadelphia) He went on to say “And therefore, I’m not going to discuss it. We’re trying to win a football game. I don’t want to put my game plan out there for everybody to see it and read it and teams can scheme. It just doesn’t make a lot of sense.”
Everyone has a unanimous pick that Foles will be the starter. Wentz simply isn’t ready to start right away coming off of a serious leg injury. Philly should be confident in Foles as he had one of the best postseason runs for a QB of all-time, especially being a backup. He put on a show against the Falcons, Vikings and then topped it off with a three-touchdown performance and a win over the favored Patriots.
