An British man listed his girlfriend on an auction site as a joke but based on the response, bidders are willing to pay over $100K for her.
CTV News reports that Dale Leeks listed his girlfriend Kelly Greaves on Ebay as a prank and let her know before heading out for date night. What they weren’t expecting is the huge response they would receive from the ad.
Although he listed her as a “miniature collectable,” he described her more like a used car, saying she made “constant whining noise” and that “the rear end leaks a bit but nothing that can’t be plugged.”
The London resident also warned buyers that she was “fairly tidy but close up shows signs of wear.” The ad also mentioned that there was “no serious damage but you can see she’s been used.”
As the evening progressed, bids reached as high as $119,000 before Ebay removed the ad since selling a human is illegal. Not to mention the creepy comments from bidders asking if they could take Greaves out for a “test drive.”
