Local police were called to the scene of a brawl Saturday evening that involved the coaches and parents of pee wee football teams at a field in Wise County, Virginia, as reported by TerezOwens.com.
The teams from Dickenson County’s Ridgeview area and Wise County were lined up to shake hands after the game played at Wise Central High School in the town of Wise when words were exchanged between the coaching staffs, according to a parent who spoke exclusively to WCYB and provided video of the incident.
The adults can be seen throwing punches while some of the elementary school-age youngsters can be seen trying to pull some of the grown ups away from the brawl. One of the adults is shown throwing one of the coaches to the ground suplex-style.
“It was pitiful to see the kids crying and scared (and) these are their coaches and mentors and guys they look up to,” the parent told News 5. “I hope it all gets resolved and doesn’t happen again.”
A spokesperson for the Wise County Sheriff’s Office told WCYB that no charges were filed and no one was seriously hurt.
