The Houston Rockets ended their two game losing streak winning against the Indiana Pacers today but it doesn’t take away from the dilemma with Carmelo Anthony.
Rumor has it is that Anthony will be out of Houston sooner than you think. If so, Anthony will be looking to sign to his third team in two seasons (Thunder 2017).
It’s been a tough ride for Anthony after his quarrel with Phil Jackson in New York, not fitting exactly right in Oklahoma City and now having to cope with coming off the bench in Houston.
His friend and Miami Heat player Dwyane Wade had something to say about the 5-7 Rockets trying to save face and put blame on Anthony. The Rockets are pretty much in the bottom rankings for everything except three pointers (3rd), steals (5th) and turnovers (6th). Plus Anthony’s stats aren’t that bad, averaging 13.4 points per game, shooting at 41% and his turnover rate is 0.8.
James Harden said he didn’t have enough info to comment on the situation, CP3 was vague about it, but a report from ESPN says he’s never coming back.
Several players and members of the Rockets’ coaching staff believe that Carmelo Anthony has played his final game for the franchise, sources told ESPN on Sunday.
Rockets star James Harden said he didn’t have enough information to comment about Anthony’s situation, while Chris Paul, who along with Harden helped recruit Anthony over the summer, praised his longtime friend but was vague about Anthony’s future with the Rockets.
“Melo’s been great here,” Paul said. “That’s like a brother to me, know what I mean? I don’t know what’s being said or whatnot, but Melo’s been great, working hard every day. So we’ll see what happens.”
His last game, before his “illness”, he did have a bad game with only 2 points (1/11) and played for 20 minutes.
Look to see what Wade had to say to the Rockets organization.
