Florida is one of the weirdest places and never short of bizarre incidents but this next story is just disgraceful. ABC News is reporting that two men apparently planned the murder of an old roommate who they believed stole a PlayStation 4 game out of their apartment.
The Seminole County Sheriff Dennis Lemma mentions how Jake Bilotta, 22 and Ian McClurg, 21 lured their former roommate back to their apartment under the notion that they would all leave together to go to a party. Billotta apparently stabbed their old roommate who was identified as Joshua Barnes, 24 while McClurg conspired with Bilotta to lure him back to their apartment.
Lemma said the suspects believed Barnes broke into their home over the weekend and stole a PlayStation 4 video game.
“It is the most bizarre and disgraceful act that one can imagine … over these gaming systems and things that have little value, definitely no association with the value of human life whatsoever,” Lemma said.
He said Barnes was stabbed multiple times with a 7-inch chef’s knife.
Bilotta and McClurg current roommate who was unnamed caught the two trying to put Barnes body in plastic trash bags. They planned to bury the body until their roommate called 911 once he saw what transpired. The pair were arrested on suspicion of premeditated murder.
