Boston Red Sox All Star OF, Mookie Betts, says he’s not going to the White House to celebrate his team’s World Series Championship. In speaking to the Boston Globe, Mookie was short, sweet, and straight to the point, when explaining why he wasn’t planning on visiting Trump:
I won’t be going there. I decided not to.
As of right now, the only other Red Sox Player, who has publicly stated that he is also not attending the White House Visit, is 3B Rafael Devers. However, considering the fact that Mookie Betts was the AL MVP, a Team Captain, and arguably the best player on Boston’s roster this past year, we might see some other Red Sox drop out of the White House trip before their Visit, tentatively scheduled on May 9, 2019, is all said and done.
Not to mention, a bunch of players in the MLB have family right there on the other side of the border of where Trump wants to build his $5 billion wall.
