Tekashi 6ix9ine has plead guilty to nine counts in his murder conspiracy, racketeering, and weapons case. He is scheduled to be sentenced on January 24, 2020. The original trial was set for September 4, 2019. He could get 47 years in prison.
Part of the plea deal including snitching on associate Kintea “Kooda B” McKenzie. He claimed that he paid McKenzie $10,000 to shoot at Chief Keef at the W hotel in NYC last summer. He was originally going to get paid $20k but agreed to settle for $10k. McKenzie has now been released on bail, per Complex.
The decision for bail happened at Thurgood Marshall Courthouse. McKenzie said that he wasn’t trying to shoot at Keef but simply to scare him. Law enforcement also followed where McKenzie went from Brooklyn to Manhattan on the day of the shooting. They also have phone calls between him and 6ix9ine. They also tracked down a call he made to someone at Rikers Island and when he got paid to handle the shooting.
McKenzie isn’t getting let off that easily though. His bail was $300,000 and it had to be co-signed by eight people. He will also be on pre-trial supervision and will be monitored in home detention. He is allowed to work and go to school though. He can also participate in an anti-violence project in Brooklyn. He will be frequently drug tested and cannot contact 6ix9ine or any of his associates.
McKenzie might get a light jail sentence for letting the shots off but expect 6ix9ine to serve less than the 47 years planned as he could possibly be dropping more names in his case. 6ix9ine was originally facing a life sentence.
