“Free at last, Free at last, Thank God Almighty I am free at last!”
Those are the words that Le’Veon Bell tweeted out just three days ago after the Steelers announced that they would not be placing the transition tag on the two-time All-Pro.
Bell, who played 5 seasons, and famously held out for the entire 2018 NFL season, will be an unrestricted free agent when the new league starts.
The three-time Pro-Bowler is ready to go and he is getting ready for his possible suitors. Reports surfaced a couple of days ago that Bell had ballooned to 260 pounds during his holdout. Bell’s trainer, Pete Bommarito of Bommarito Performance Systems in Miami, told FanSided
“It’s so untrue it’s laughable and ridiculous. He has stuck to the plan and stayed in shape all year. It’s ridiculous. Where does this stuff come from? Who says this? Nobody asked me.”
Needless to say Bell is ready to play and where he goes next will be one of the hottest off season story lines in the NFL.
