Following both teams dominating performances Thursday night, the expectations for Gonzaga-Texas Tech were very high. Each team is led by potential NBA lottery picks in Rui Hachimura and Jarrett Culver.
Hachimura finished with 22 points and Culver dropped in 19.
However, the Red Raiders made just enough plays down the stretch to come away victorious. The technical foul by Josh Perkins didn’t hurt either.
The two stars didn’t have their best performances, but you felt their impact nonetheless. Often times when players are struggling from the field, you’ll see them shy away from getting shots up.
Culver isn’t built like that.
The NBA prospect understands his team needs him to remain confident at all times because as he goes, the team goes.
Now, the Red Raiders will await the winner of Duke and Michigan State to see who they’ll play next weekend in Minneapolis.
