Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving’s 2019 free agent plans have been arguably the biggest rumor in the NBA this season. The Knicks have been speculated to be a team who could land both superstars.
ESPN’s Brian Windhorst revealed on his ‘Brian Windhorst and the The Hoop Collective‘ podcast that KD and Irving’s relationship is “strong as ever” and the two talk or text every day. They’re reported to have been discussing their plans for this summer as far as free agency.
Kevin Durant has an opportunity to three-peat with the Warriors this season so there is a chance that he can stay put. While winning is always fun, a chance of scenery could be possible for KD. Irving was supposed to be the man in Boston but the team is fourth in the East and stand at 45-32. While they would have home court advantage in the playoffs as of now, they haven’t really met expectations so far. Irving may feel that being with KD else where is the best move for him. There hasn’t been any report of them teaming up in Boston as of now.
