After seven seasons, the Miami Dolphins have decided to move on from quarterback Ryan Tannehill and trade him to the Tennessee Titans.
The Dolphins get 7th round pick this year’s draft and a 2020 4th rounder. Titans, in return, get Tannehil and a 6th round pick in this year’s draft. Dolphins were trying to hold out and find a better deal since he was their 2012 first round pick. Tannehill had to restructure his contract for the Titans to even consider a trade.
The deal is worth $12 million, 7 guaranteed, for a year.
This is somewhat interesting as the Titans have their own starting quarterback Marcus Mariota. However, Mariota has yet to finish a whole season after several injuries and surgeries.
His rookie season, he was diagnosed with several knee injuries. In 2016, he underwent surgery on his right fibula. In 2017, he suffered from a hamstring injury and last season, he injured his elbow.
Tannehill is no different. He missed the whole 2017 season after tearing his ACL and missed several games in 2016 and 2018 due to injuries.
With this being Mariota’s last season and Tannehill on a one-year deal, let’s see which quarterback can stay uninjured for the whole season and possibly remain in Tennessee.
