With The NFL Draft Quickly Approaching, Take A Look At BSO’s Mock Draft 2.0

22. Baltimore Ravens: Marquise Brown, WR, Oklahoma

The Ravens aren’t going to beat you throwing the football. But it would be nice if they had a functioning wide receiver, particularly one with turbo boosters. Enter Marquise Brown and watch Greg Roman light up thinking about how many ways he can use Brown on offense with electric quarterback Lamar Jackson.

23. Houston Texans: Cody Ford, OL, Oklahoma

This team, like the Seahawks, desperately need offensive line help. Deshaun Watson has taken a beating game after game, and he’s only in his upcoming third year in the NFL. Adding Cody Ford here will help with the need for offensive line and keep Deshaun Watson from running for his life.

24. Oakland Raiders(from CHI): Clelin Ferrell, EDGE, Clemson

The Raiders addressed their interior pass rush at #4, so they address their EDGE situation here at 24. Ferrell is better suited for a 4-3 defense, but his talent is too rich to pass up.

25. Philadelphia Eagles: Byron Murphy, CB, Washington

The Eagles could opt to draft Josh Jacobs here, as they can never have enough running backs. But they select Byron Murphy out of Washington, who fills a far more greater need.

26. Indianapolis Colts: Josh Jacobs, RB, Alabama

The Colts have a young, exciting back in Marlon Mack holding down the hatches. Why not add another one to make second year head coach Frank Reich’s offense even more dynamic? Using both Marlon Mack and Josh Jacobs out of the same backfield sounds just absolutely dreamy and should be illegal in all 50 states.

27. Oakland Raiders(from DAL): DeAndre Baker, CB, Georgia

After addressing their pass rushing problems, the Raiders are still left with a hole in the secondary. Plugging an excellent man coverage corner, like DeAndre Baker, into that Raiders defense with Quinnen Williams and Clelin Ferrell could be something vicious.

28. Los Angeles Chargers: Jeffrey Simmons, DL, Mississippi State

The Chargers need an interior defensive lineman due to Corey Liuget’s team option not being picked up. They select Jeffrey Simmons here at 28, but don’t get him right away due to a torn ACL suffered during the pre-draft process. Simmons would be a top 10 pick if healthy, so the Chargers would be getting an absolute steal. Who knows, maybe Simmons can go even earlier than 28.

29. Kansas City Chiefs: Garrett Bradbury, iOL, N.C. State

The Chiefs do have needs on the defensive side of the ball and a lot of them, luckily defensive talent is very deep in this draft. Offensive line talent isn’t as deep however, which leads to the Chiefs jumping on Bradbury at the end of round 1. Mitch Morse left the Chiefs this offseason for the Buffalo Bills and left the Chiefs with a hole at center. Plug in Bradbury, who can also play guard, and watch your offensive line get much better. More likely than not Bradbury even makes it this late in round 1, but who knows.

30. Green Bay Packers(from NO): Hakeem Butler, WR, Iowa State

The Packers could address their safety need here following the departure of Haha Clinton-Dix, but they choose to give Aaron Rodgers more toys to work with. The Packers have a good bunch of young wide receivers, but none of them have flashed enough. Plugging Butler into this offense could do wonders for first year head coach Matt LaFleur, while also keeping Aaron Rodgers happy.

31. Los Angeles Rams: Jerry Tillery, DL, Notre Dame

The Rams, like the Chiefs, are also in the great offense but awful defense bucket. The Rams lost Lamarcus Joyner to the Raiders in free agency and might just be losing Ndamukung Suh as well. Replacing Suh with Tillery makes the most sense over a safety that you can get in the second round.

32. New England Patriots: A.J. Brown, WR, Ole Miss

The Patriots really need offensive playmakers. They lost Chris Hogan to the Panthers in free agency, missed out on slot receiver Adam Humphries(who later signed with the Tennessee Titans), and Rob Gronkowski retired. Getting a player of Brown’s caliber at 32 is great value and should satisfy the efforts to extend Tom Brady’s career as long as possible.
