The New York Jets have fired GM Mike Maccagnan and have replaced him with Adam Gase as the interim GM, this according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Maccagnan had two years remaining on his deal.
After successfully bringing Le’Veon Bell to the Jets to pair with Sam Darnold, it appeared the Jets were building stability within the organization.
Recently though rumors had surfaced of tension between Gase and Maccagnan, which the team had shot down.
As NFL Network’s Ian’s Rapoport reports, differences in spending on free agents such as Le’Veon Bell and C.J. Mosley were at the core of issues between Gase and Maccagnan.
With the firing of Maccagnan and replacing him with Gase, it appears the Jets are all in with their new head coach.
It looks Gase has won out and is the new head man in charge of all things Jets.
