Coby White wrote a fantastic piece for The Player’s Tribune that quite frankly, will move you to tears because of how transparent he was in his essay. On Draft Night, we spoke to him about his dad and what went through his mind.
At times, Draft Night means glitz, glam, and dressing to impress. But at other times, it might be the reminder of a parent who is absent and not by their choice but because life can truly be unfair at times.
We linked the piece above for you to read but White’s dad passed away while battling cancer. White shares the thoughts of his dad not being there on Draft Night especially because if it weren’t for his dad, he wouldn’t know the game.
You can catch White with the Chicago Bulls this upcoming season.
