Odell Beckham Jr getting traded to the Browns from the Giants in March shocked the entire NFL and it immediately placed Cleveland into playoff contenders, something which hasn’t been said in years. Now, Beckham is embracing the city and knew NY wasn’t the place for him anymore.
In a new interview with Complex, Beckham said he was stuck at a place that wasn’t working for him anymore. He added that he wouldn’t reach his full potential there mentally, physically and spiritually. After the trade, he finally felt comfortable to get away with irrelevant things happening.
“I just couldn’t see it happening there. So I think allowing me to be in an environment where I can be myself and give it a different approach, I feel like my football will benefit. I’m just excited about being able to play football again and not have to deal with all the other stuff and politics that came with my previous role.
As of now, Cleveland should be the favorite to win the AFC North. The explosive offense featuring Beckham, Baker Mayfield, Jarvis Landry, and the eventual return of Kareem Hunt will be something amazing to watch on the field.
