Paul Pierce has grabbed the mic again, and this time he’s playing relationship referee for Klay Thompson and Megan Thee Stallion, because apparently, what every breakup needs is a courtside analyst.
Speaking on his show The Truth After Dark, Pierce dropped a take that had social media doing a collective double take. According to him, Klay “used” Megan just to get through the season. Like she was some sort of emotional piece of cake.
“We put our relationships in the public eye, and then we put our breakups in the public eye,” Pierce said. “You don’t have to put everything on social media because it just opens up the door for nasty splits.”
“It looks to me like Megan Thee Stallion was just some work for him (Klay Thompson) to get through the season,” Pierce said. “I’m not validating his cheating.”
Pierce’s co-host, Azar Farideh, pushed back against his comments.
“Men have to stop making a woman fall in love with them and doing all the things with no real expectation to love that woman,” Farideh said. “Do not ignite the love in a woman when you’re not going to cherish it.”
So now we have Pierce’s version: a seasonal romance, a public breakup, and a “nasty” finish. Sounds less like real life and more like a playoff storyline that got cut before the finals.
At this rate, we’re one hot take away from someone calculating their relationship stats per quarter.
