Dildo Thrown Onto Court During Angel Reese’s Perfect Game

A spectator threw a green sex toy onto the court during the third quarter of the Atlanta Dream’s 124-88 victory over the Los Angeles Sparks on Thursday night at Crypto.com Arena, briefly interrupting play and prompting an immediate reaction from Dream forward Angel Reese.

With 2:59 remaining in the third quarter and the Dream leading 84-53, Sparks forward Jihyun Park prepared to shoot free throws when the object landed near her and bounced across the paint toward the Los Angeles bench. Officials stopped play. Sparks center Cameron Brink kicked the item away before a security staffer removed it with a towel.

Reese, seated on the bench near the scorer’s table, quickly pointed toward the stands and directed security’s attention to the individual she believed responsible. Video of the moment shows Reese gesturing emphatically and saying variations of “Right there! Get him!” She was later heard joking with teammates about the object’s size. Arena security apprehended the spectator. Footage circulating online showed a man wearing a Luka Dončić Lakers jersey attempting to leave the area and colliding with a security officer.

The Dream set a franchise record for points in the game. Reese finished with 20 points on perfect 9-for-9 shooting, 10 rebounds and eight assists. Rhyne Howard led Atlanta with 26 points. The Sparks, eliminated from playoff contention with the loss, dropped their sixth straight game.

The incident marked a return of a disruption that plagued several WNBA games in the middle of the 2025 season. Those episodes began at a Dream home game against the Golden State Valkyries on July 29, 2025, when a lime-green sex toy was thrown onto the court in the final minute of a close contest. Similar objects appeared at multiple games in the following weeks before the trend subsided. Some of the 2025 throws were linked to a cryptocurrency promotion. The league issued a statement at the time emphasizing that fans who intentionally throw objects onto the court face immediate ejection, a minimum one-year ban, and potential arrest and prosecution.

No new league statement had been issued as of Friday morning regarding Thursday’s episode. The WNBA’s arena security standards remain in place.
