Ex Bills Player Jordan Poyer Trashed For His Brutal Take On Jalen Hurts

Jalen Hurts has a Super Bowl ring and Jordan Poyer has an opinion.

And apparently, the second one was enough to start another NFL argument.

The former Buffalo Bills star, now working as an analyst, recently shared a rather unflattering take on Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts. It did not exactly receive a standing ovation from the NFL community.

Hurts has spent years dealing with the same debate. Is he truly one of the league’s elite quarterbacks, or is he simply a very good starter surrounded by a really good team?

Apparently, Poyer has made his choice.

Poyer questioned Hurts’ abilities and suggested the quarterback does not always take charge in the way some of the league’s top quarterbacks do.

That is a spicy opinion, especially when the guy you’re discussing already has a Lombardi Trophy sitting somewhere.

Of course, winning a Super Bowl does not automatically end every quarterback debate. If it did, NFL television would lose about 90 percent of its programming.

But Hurts has certainly done enough to make the conversation interesting.

As Philadelphia prepares for another playoff push, questions surrounding Hurts resurfaced during Wednesday’s edition of CBS Sports HQ. Poyer defended parts of the Eagles’ offense but questioned whether Hurts can consistently deliver in high-pressure comeback situations.

“He’s not somebody that I would trust down 14 to bring my team back in the game,” Poyer said. “But again, I’m not going to sit here and hate on Jalen because all he’s done is win.”

However, Poyer seemed to overlook one of Hurts’ most memorable performances in 2023.

Hurts rallied the Eagles from two separate 10-point deficits to defeat Poyer’s Bills 37-34 in overtime. Poyer was on the field when Hurts capped the comeback with the game-winning rushing touchdown.

Welcome to the NFL!

“This should be a fireable offense,” one remarked.

“Jordan Poyer says he wouldn’t trust Jalen Hurts to lead a team back from a double-digit deficit. Jalen Hurts vs. Jordan Poyer and the Buffalo Bills came back from being down 24-14 with under two minutes to go in the 3Q to beat the Bills in 2023. Hurts had 5 TD,” Chat Sports’ Chase Senior pointed out.

“This you???” radio contributor O. J. Spivey wrote with the infamous clips from the 2023 season.

“This is why I don’t believe all players should be analysts. Jordan Poyer was a member of the Bills in 2023, who Jalen led a double-digit comeback against. The Eagles scored 17 in the 4th,” Eagles fan Keina Williams wrote.

“One of the laziest takes possible,” a fan said.

“Someone tell Jordan that ex-players can do research before segments when cultivating their “hot takes,” even in games they played in when they shouldn’t have to. Sharp leisure suit though, like it,” radio personality John Kincade wrote.

In all, Hurts will get another chance to answer the critics on the field.
