Officials disclosed that it had been years since someone drowned near Horn Island while detectives attempt to piece together facts behind Nolan Wells‘ unexplained death.
No drowning deaths at the Mississippi barrier island have been reported in the past six years, the Jackson County coroner said PEOPLE. However, authorities did inform the publication that a drowning death inquiry had taken place at neighboring Petit Bois Island in recent years.
Additionally, they said that a teenage girl was sent to the hospital in critical condition after becoming caught in the waters near Dauphin Island.
As you are aware, Nolan never came home after a Fourth of July celebration at the well-known location, and his death was discovered in the shallow waters surrounding the island on July 6. Because of the fast shifting tides and strong currents, the seas surrounding the island are considered hazardous.
In a conversation with Brandon Tatum last month, Nolan’s closest buddy explained the island’s perils. asserting that he is aware of those who have died there.
Concerns regarding Nolan’s passing have persisted among his family. and they are still awaiting a meeting with the Jackson County District Attorney’s Office to jointly inspect his phone.
