Things could be getting worse for Warriors minority owner Mark Stevens. After he reached over someone to push and curse at Raptors guard Kyle Lowry during game 3 of the NBA finals, Stevens was banned for a year and also fined $500,000.
Lowry wanted the part owner to have a lifetime ban and he might get his wish according to Warriors forward Andre Iguodala. Iguodala recently appeared on the radio show The Breakfast Club gave his insight.
“There’s more to it. It’s not just banned for a year from what I heard. There’s more consequences as far as his interest that he invested in the team. Like, all that’s gonna be gone, too.”
Stevens is a billionaire and only owns an estimated 8% stake in the Warriors so he will be ok if he has to sell. However, this would send a strong message to others like him that they can’t just get away with anything.
