I’ve said this before and I will say it again.
Crimes get weirder and weirder each day.
But this particular one had some weird components with some seriousness as well.
A Texas woman was arrested for leaving her 1 year old daughter in the car while, wait for it, drinking shots at a bar. WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING.
Her one-year-old child was found in a safety seat in the backseat of a car with the doors unlocked, according to police. Vaughan was said to have been found inside the club minutes later.
Court records show Vaughan claimed to have gone into the bar to use the bathroom after picking her husband up from the nightclub.
Just going to use the bathroom, that’s fine.
The affidavit says when she found her husband she ‘sat with him while she consumed the two shots’.
Officers who apprehended Vaughan at around 2am say she then shouted a racial slur before recording a blood alcohol level of 0.148. The legal driving limit there is 0.08.
Good lord man, that’s one toxic parent right there. I mean it’s 2 AM, what’re you doing in a bar when you have your kid with you?
She even hurled a racial slur at officers while being arrested.
Vaughan is then said to have told police ‘she had two shots’ before shouting ‘you will not take my child and place her with a f***ing n*****’.
And did something stupid to top it off.
Law enforcement say she ‘smashed her forehead’ on the steel bar inside a police patrol car twice which ’caused a small laceration to her head’.
Yikes, yikes, yikes.
Her charges are as seen below.
She now faces a charge of abandoning/endangering a child with intent to return, resisting arrest and terroristic threats to a public servant.
I have so many things to say, but that’ll take up too much time.
I’ve heard of doing the dumb thing by leaving your children in a hot car. But even then, there’s people there who’ll probably save the child anyways.
Leaving your child outside a bar at 2 AM with the engine running AND the doors unlocked? She shouldn’t be allowed to be in the care of kids for a while.
Or until she gets her act together.
One last lesson, if you can’t handle alcohol, don’t drink.
Simple.
