Detroit Lions
2019 Prediction: 5-11
The Lions walk into 2019 after another below average year with a record of 6-10.
Matthew Stamford remains at QB, but with no Golden Tate, expect the starting WRs to now be Kenny Golladay and Marvin Jones.
Matt Patricia is looking to improve his defense this year. In comes the ex-Patriot Trey Flowers and out goes The now Seattle Seahawk Ezekiel Ansah.
I wouldn’t expect the Lions to contend for a playoff spot, as their defense still remains lackluster.
Enjoy another year watching the Lions season end in week 17 Lions fans.
Green Bay Packers
2019 Prediction: 10-6
Aaron Rodgers comes back for another year, but with a new head coach.
Mike McCarthy was fired last season and his replacement is ex-Titans offensive coordinator Matt LaFleur.
LaFleur offense didn’t look too hot with the Titans, but any coordinator having to start Blaine Gabbert more than once a year is bound to have struggles.
Look for the offense to look a bit different, but with better numbers as the year goes along
The defense added Adrian Amos from the Bears in free agency to shore up their secondary even more.
Za’Darius Smith and Preston Smith, the 2 best pass rushers on the open market this offseason, both signed lucrative deals with the Packers.
Signaling the defense is ready to finally take a step forward.
Expect the Packers to look better, but not good enough to win the NFC North.
Houston Texans
2019 Prediction: 9-7
The Texans are coming off a 2018 season in which they won the AFC South, but lost to the Colts in the AFC wild card game.
DeShaun Watson is looking to add another division title to his resumè. While lighting up defenses some more in 2019.
The defense remains much of the same, with notable names Kareem Jackson and Tyrann Mathieu gone over to the Denver Broncos and Kansas City Chiefs.
Expect Texans to regress a bit in 2019, especially with the offensive line still not being addressed well enough.
Indianapolis Colts
2019 Prediction: 11-5
Andrew Luck and his flip phone return to a surprise contending Colts team.
While many expected Luck to play well in his return last season, no one expected the Colts to play as well as they did.
Going 10-6 and winning a playoff game just makes the rebuild of Chris Ballard look even better.
I would expect the Colts to win the division this year, with the Titans on their heels.
Jacksonville Jaguars
2019 Prediction: 6-10
The Jags have said goodbye to Blake Bortles and hello to Nick Foles.
Foles, the ex-Eagle, will look to stabilize a Jags QB situation in which its prevented the Jags from seriously contending the last 2 seasons.
While Foles isn’t a world beater, he’s serviceable and should provide some better play at the QB positions for the Jags.
The defense remains the same, as Calais Campbell and Yannick Ngakoue headline a dangerous defensive line. With Jalen Ramsey and AJ Bouye holding down the secondary.
The Jags have improved at QB, but that won’t translate to a playoff spot in 2019.
Kansas City Chiefs
2019 Prediction: 14-2
The Chiefs are a juggernaut, plain and simple. Patrick Mahomes is arguably the game’s best QB right now and he still has his tremendous haul of weapons to throw to.
Tyreek Hill is the one name that stands out, as he didn’t get suspended for allegedly punching his son in the chest.
The defense looks improved from last season with the additions of Frank Clark and Tyrann Mathieu.
My thoughts?
The Chiefs will continue their winning ways in 2019 and will contend for a Super Bowl title.
Los Angeles Chargers
2019 Prediction: 10-6
The Chargers are in a peculiar spot going into 2019.
Having won 11 games, but getting most of the attention taken away as a result of the flashy Kansas City Chiefs.
Phillip Rivers returns for another season with Anthony Lynn still at coach.
Melvin Gordon is holding out for a new deal from the Chargers, but unless one party caves, I expect the holdout to last for some time.
Expect the Chargers to again try to contend for the AFC West, but a playoff spot seems in the cards for the Chargers once again.
Los Angeles Rams
2019 Prediction: 12-4
The Rams return this season after a disappointing end to the year via a 13-3 loss to the Patriots in Super Bowl 53.
Jared Goff looks to rebound from his horrid game with his friend Todd Gurley.
Gurley has some major questions after his workload dropped significantly once the postseason began. Gurley will start the year off healthy, but his health will be monitored for fantasy football purposes.
The Rams will win the NFC West once again, but their season will bank on how they’ll respond in the playoffs.
Miami Dolphins
2019 Prediction: 2-14
The Dolphins aren’t going to be on anyone’s radar in 2019. With a poor roster and new head coach, the Dolphins are looking at a decent size rebuild for the future.
Josh Rosen is looking to start and cement himself as the QB of the future for the Dolphins.
Not much to clamor about this Dolphins team, so look for them to be in the cellar of the AFC East, maybe even the league this season.
Minnesota Vikings
2019 Prediction: 7-9
Kirk Cousins returns to man the Vikings’ offense. An offense which went through some change last season with the firing of John DeFilippo.
Dalvin Cook looks to have another stellar year.
Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen continue to line up outside and produce accordingly.
The defense remains the same, but almost was left without Anthony Barr after he declined a massive offer from the New York Jets.
Mike Zimmer could be on a bit of a hot seat, especially if the Vikings miss the playoffs once again.
New England Patriots
2019 Prediction: 12-4
Father Time hasn’t seemed to hit Tom Brady just yet. The 41 year old, turns 42 in August, returns for his 19th season in the league.
Pretty amazing if you ask me.
Bill Belichick will look to coach his team to another division title and potential championship.
We should know what to expect with the Patriots now, a guaranteed division title and almost guaranteed AFC championship game appearance.
New Orleans Saints
2019 Prediction: 11-5
The Saints could’ve been coming into 2019 with a Super Bowl win. After they were robbed of an appearance in the big game by a horrible missed PI call.
Drew Brees continues his Hall of Fame career and will only look to add another title to his name.
Expect the Saints to win the NFC South once again and contend for a title in a loaded NFC.
