Someone needs to remind New York Giants head coach Pat Shurmur it is only the preseason.
Shurmur is feeling pretty good as rookie QB Daniel Jones has had a strong start to the preseason.
The first year QB out of Duke is 25 out of 30 with 369 yards passing, 2 TD’s and 0 int’s in three games.
Here is what Shurmur had to say after the Giants preseason win over the Bengals,
Pat Shurmur on Daniel Jones:
"You can ask me all you want about why I like him. I think it’s time to start asking the people that didn’t like him what they think, quite frankly.''— Paul Schwartz (@NYPost_Schwartz) August 23, 2019
Jones had a strong performance going 9 of 11 for 141 yards and led a TD drive in the 25-23 win, again, in a preseason game.
Shurmur has reiterated that Eli Manning, two-time Super Bowl winner, is the starter headed into the season.
Twitter had some fun reminding Shurmur that Jones, while playing well, still needs to figure things out.
