The Matrix is making a return. One of the most popular movie franchises of the early 2000s is set to start production at the beginning of 2020 according to Variety.
And yes, Keanu Reeves is reprising his role as Neo and Carrie Anne Moss is reprising her role as Trinity. Lana Wachowski who directed and wrote all three Matrix movies will be directing and writing the fourth.
Warner Bros. Picture group Chairman Toby Emmerich said Tuesday
“We could not be more excited to be re-entering ‘The Matrix’ with Lana,” said Emmerich. “Lana is a true visionary — a singular and original creative filmmaker — and we are thrilled that she is writing, directing and producing this new chapter in ‘The Matrix’ universe.”
The first three movies made a total of $1.6 billion so it makes sense that they are trying to make another one.
