Speaking of doing less, or the most in this case. You had to love Councilman Tate this week. Not a fan of this storyline at all, but it was good for humor this week. True to form Tate is banging one of his staffers, who happens to be married to his Chief of Staff?
They may have been a bit on the nose with the sexual puns and innuendo during Tate’s call with the DNC, and the subsequent meeting at campaign headquarters. But I for one, am not above a little sex humor.
The Tate storyline does allow for the addition of new characters and while we already discussed the negative aspect, there are some positives. Ramona Garrity, a top official within the DNC looks like she could be a nice foil for Tate, and give him a taste of his own shady medicine. Possibly even become an ally of Ghost?
Garrity did arrive with a thud, sacking half of Tate’s staff and letting him know if he wants the DNC’s help, she’s in charge. The idea of a strong female character that doesn’t take shit from Tate or any of the men works. She bonds with Tasha in a later scene over infidelity. That scene was particularly good because, while Tate was present, it was very much the ladies saying “let the grown folks talk.”
