If there was ever a player that could give Vontaze Burfict a run for his money on the title of being the NFL’s most dirtiest player, that would be former Linebacker Bill Romanowski.
Romanowski, who has a long track record of dirty plays notably,
- Breaking Kerry Collins Jaw
- Spitting in J.J. Stokes face
- Kicking Larry Centers in the head
- Snapping Dave Meggets finger
- Broke teammate Marcus William eye socket
Bill has done it all, and that’s just some of the plays he’s been involved in. He spoke recently with TMZ on the NFL’s decision to suspend Burfict.
Surprisingly, Bill agreed the hit by Burfict on Jack Doyle was totally uncalled for and illegal. He agrees it was too much, but he took that notion a step further. Bill told TMZ,
“You’re in the heat of battle. Your mindset is kill or be killed. Because the offensive linemen are still coming at you. You’re in war. You’re supposed to be able to be violent sometimes and other times you’re supposed to just be able to take your foot off the gas like that. That is hard, my friend.”
“I feel for this guy. Do I think he should be fined? Yes. Do I think he should be kicked outta the league? No. I think it is absolutely dead wrong. This guy has handled himself like a pro. And yes, he is a violent mother f’er and I love the way he plays the game of football.”
“I think a fine, maybe a game because there’s previous stuff. Other people just get kicked out of the game. I’ve been kicked out of games for things like that, so I get it. But, for him to be suspended for the season, I think is bulls**t.”
There is nothing that Bill Romanowski can say that makes valid sense on the NFL “Not” to suspend Vontaze Burfict. He’s had numerous opportunities to right his actions, spoke with numerous NFL officials on multiple occasions, and has been fined more than 500K. He still continues to play the game the way he thinks it should be played in a league that preaches player’s safety.
