The biggest fight since Mayweather Pacquiao is on every boxing fans mind; Spence vs Crawford. This fight is definitely pay per view, blockbuster material.
Bud who spoke with TMZ recently says,
“Take off them panties and pull your pants up, and let’s sign the contract!!!”
Crawford who says he’s been trying to get the fight with Errol for the longest, thinks Spence is flat out scared to fight him. He thinks that Errol is scared to lose.
Bud stated,
“I honestly believe when it comes to him … deep down in his heart, he knows what he’s up against when he goes up against me.”
To further his pettiness, he also believes Errol’s last fight against Shawn Porter wasn’t convincing as Spence made it seemed stating,
“It was a close fight. Don’t get me wrong. I wouldn’t say it was a big-time robbery. But, it was a close fight and if I had to give anybody the victory, I think Shawn deserved it.”
In Errol Spence’s defense, he has likewise stated that he believes he would defeat Bud Crawford and also says that Bud’s camp is preventing the showdown from taking place.
What is the main reason for this fight not taking place at the time?
Bud Crawford is signed to Bob Arum. Spence is signed to Al Haymon. The two promotors do not like each other at all truth be told, and don’t like making fights together because of politics. The only time the two came into agreement recently was “MayPac”, the biggest Pay Per View combat event in history.
The other issue is Spence and Haymon have all the leverage and Crawford has none. While Spence still has a good 3-4 credible opponents to face from the welterweight rich PBC stable, Crawford has none. If Crawford wants the fight he is going to have to instruct Arum to bend to Haymon’s terms.
Spence vs Crawford wouldn’t do those types of numbers but its not farfetched to say the fight couldn’t do easily 7 figures, especially in Vegas.
