How Eddie Murphy Tried to Stop Whitney Houston From Marrying Bobby Brown on Their Wedding Day; Whitney’s Best Friend Robyn on How She Wished Whitney Wore Sexy Clothes For Her Like She Did For Eddie (Pics-Vid)

Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown are definitely one of the most iconic couples in the history of the music industry and pop culture in general. The marriage may not have happened though as Eddie Murphy played a role.

Houston’s best friend, Robyn Crawford, has released a memoir titled, A Song For You: My Life With Whitney Houston, according to The Jasmine Brand. In this, Crawford explained how Houston was really into Murphy in the late 1980s. She added that Brown heavily pursued her but Houston wanted to be with him and “lost herself” in it all. Crawford even jokingly said that she wish Houston wore a a black dress and low-heeled slingbacks in front of her the way she was doing for Murphy.

Crawford noted how Houston was way more interested in Murphy than Brown. The high point was on July 18, 1992, which was her wedding day with Brown. Murphy called her to say she was making a mistake with this marriage but she went on with it anyway.

Brown and Houston ended up having their daughter, Bobbi, but divorced in 2007. Houston tragically passed away due to drug use in February of 2012 and Bobbi passed in July 2015 due to a drug overdose as well. As far as Murphy, it’s interesting to think about what could have been if he was able to lure her away from Brown.
