3. Deshaun Watson Looks to Continue Success Against Titans
Watson has stolen the hearts of football enthusiasts due to his absurd off script play making when throwing the football, and his ability to change the game with his legs.
These 2 things are aspects of Watson’s game that they’ve seen up close and personal time and time again. The Titans will get to see it once again tomorrow, but this time, in a game with much larger meaning.
In 3 career games against the Titans, Watson has thrown for 803 yards, 8 touchdowns, and a passer rating of 12o.7.
He’s added 138 yards rushing and 2 rushing touchdowns as well.
To summarize it up, Watson plays well against the Titans.
He’ll get a great chance to do so against tomorrow, as the Titans’ defense hasn’t been their best the last 3 games, particularly in the secondary.
4. While On The Topic of Success Against The Titans, What About DeAndre Hopkins?
While Deshaun Watson has enjoyed some success against Tennessee, no one of the Texans has tore up the Titans’ defense over the years more than DeAndre Hopkins.
From Jason McCourty, to Malcom Butler, Hopkins has torched the Titans’ secondary time after time.
Hopkins has an astounding 77 catches for 1,194 yards, and 7 touchdowns in his career against the Titans. If you’re somehow stupid, those numbers are downright incredible.
All these years and the Titans haven’t found a consistent way to at LEAST slow him down.
With Butler on IR and Adoree Jackson still continuing to nurse a foot injury, Hopkins will have a great shot at increasing these numbers even more.
If Hopkins has a monster game, then even more of the pressure will be placed on the shoulders of this Titans offense.
Not that that’s been a problem though, recently that is.
5. Can Someone Other Than Harold Landry Step Up?
Harold Landry has carried most of the weight known as the Titans’ pass rush this year.
Other than him, it’s been a consistent no show.
It doesn’t help that Jurrell Casey isn’t having his usual dominant year, or that Jeffery Simmons is still trying to find consistency as a rookie, even others at EDGE haven’t been at their best.
These factors contribute to the Titans’ secondary looking poor, so poor that you shiver at the thought of them trying to cover DeAndre Hopkins.
Deshaun Watson is prone to running into sacks however, which could seemingly aid the Titans in more ways than one.
We’ll see how it plays out though.
