This was heartbreaking to read.
Yesterday, in a piece posted on The Players’ Tribune, ex-NBA guard Ben Gordon detailed his strenuous battle with mental health issues.
He explains that after his last year in the league, his battle with depression and anxiety got so hectic, to the point he had scary thoughts running rampant in his mind.
I won’t go too deep into it all, as I believe you should read what Gordon experienced from him, not me.
I don’t have the right.
This only further deepens the conversation we should have about major athletes after they retire.
They could have those demons that we all have, but find some sort of combatant within the sport they love to play. But once they can’t play that sport at a high level anymore, where do they turn?
It isn’t a particularly easy answer, surely an answer I don’t have.

We all got something we’re going through.
