Antonio Brown is inching closer to finally being reinstated by the NFL.
He had to get his assault of a delivery truck driver cleared up and the first part of that was getting the original charges which could have led to 40 years in jail reduced.
The state of Florida has levied three formal charges against Antonio Brown for an alleged January assault that resulted in the former All-Pro wide receiver’s arrest.
Brown faces felony burglary conveyance, misdemeanor battery and misdemeanor criminal mischief charges, according to a Broward County court document obtained by ESPN.
Brown turned himself in on Jan. 23 after a delivery truck driver alleged Brown and his trainer assaulted him outside of Brown’s South Florida home two days earlier. The driver was attempting to deliver Brown’s household items from California, according to a criminal complaint.
Because of the coronavirus and the fact they have reduced the charges which were originally felony burglary with battery it likely that Brown will accept a plea deal with no jail time.
The NFL has been slow footing their punishment of Brown, but he still hopes to play in the 2020 season.
