11. Jets: WR Jerry Jeudy/Alabama
The Jets can go offensive tackle here, but getting another weapon for Sam Darnold is too enticing to pass up, especially when Jerry Jeudy falls right into your lap.
Jeudy will become Sam Darnold’s #1 option for years to come, and a connection that’ll turn some heads across the NFL world.
12. Raiders: WR CeeDee Lamb/Oklahoma
With Jerry Jeudy off the board, the Raiders look to another high profile wide receiver prospect, CeeDee Lamb.
Adding Lamb gives the Raiders another talented piece to their offensive puzzle, along with the likes of Jsoh Jacobs and Darren Waller.
Whoever ends up playing at quarterback for Jon Gruden’s Raiders, they won’t be able to complain about their surrounding offensive personnel.
13. 49ers(from IND): WR Henry Ruggs/Alabama
The 49ers’ success running the football last season was fun to watch, but it’s time to add another receiver to take this offense to even greater heights.
Emmanuel Sanders departed as a free agent, leaving the 49ers with Deebo Samuel and a young Kendrick Bourne as the main wide outs. Adding Ruggs will give Kyle Shanahan a new toy to play with in his offense, something I’m sure Jimmy Garoppolo wouldn’t mind in his own right.
I’m still not high on Jimmy G, but adding weapons will only elevate his play…..well, in hindsight it should.
14. Buccaneers: OT Andrew Thomas/Georgia
With Tom Brady joining the fold, finding protection for their prized free agency acquisition should be the only thing they do at #14.
The Bucs’ offensive line is putrid, and it isn’t ready to compete at the level of a contender. Sliding Thomas in would only do wonders towards the journey of protecting Tom Brady.
15. TRADE(Cowboys Acquire #15 From Broncos): CB C.J. Henderson/Florida
Cowboys send #17, a 2020 3rd round pick(#82), and a 2021 6th round pick.
Twist!
The Cowboys need a corner after the departure of Byron Jones, selecting C.J. Henderson at 15 would start their journey towards replacing Jones, the newest Miami Dolphin.
The Broncos give up 15 due to the top 3 wide receivers being off the board, and should be satisfied with their compensation.
16. Falcons: CB Kristian Fulton/LSU
Dan Quinn already addressed one of his largest needs on the defensive side of the ball, in adding highly sought after pass rusher Dante Fowler.
Now attention can turn to the secondary, an area that’s been a problem in Atlanta for quite some time. Adding Fulton would give this secondary talent they haven’t had in a while, and would bring the Falcons one step closer towards being able to handle the 2 supposed high powered offenses that reside in the NFC South.
17. Broncos(via projected trade with DAL): WR Justin Jefferson/LSU
Yes I know, #17 might be a little high for Jefferson, but the Broncos need another receiver opposite Courtland Sutton.
Jefferson is a talented route runner, that can go up and makes plays in contested catch situations.
If I’m John Elway, I want that type of player opposite Courtland Sutton.
18. Dolphins(from PIT): iDL Javon Kinlaw
After getting their franchise guy, the Dolphins could turn to finding him some protection, but taking Kinlaw at 18 would be a massive steal.
Kinlaw has talent that warrants him being selected in the top 10, but lingering medical questions, and other teams drafting towards their needs might cause a bit of a slide for the ex-South Carolina product.
Nonetheless, in this mock, I have him sliding to the Miami Dolphins at #18.
19. Raiders(from CHI): S Xavier McKinney/Alabama
The Raiders still need a corner, but they also have a need at safety. With the top corners off the board, the Raiders go after Xavier McKinney out of Alabama.
A young safety tandem of McKinney and 2018 1st round pick Jonathan Abrams, should give Raiders fans a lot of excitement for the future.
