It’s no secret that Dak Prescott wants to get paid. The problem is, the Cowboys have been pretty reluctant to pay Prescott the exact amount he wants.
There’s been plenty rumors regarding Prescott’s asking price, none of which have been proven to be true just yet. Through all of the back and forth talk surrounding Dak’s next contract, the question of whether he deserves the money he’s demanding, has been brought up as well.
However, all of the speculation is worthless, unless we know what’s really going on. Until someone hears from one of both of the parties, about their dialogue during contract talks, I don’t think I’ll believe a single word relating to this situation.
But just because I’m making the choice to ignore all the smoke, doesn’t mean it’ll stop others from “claiming” to know the inside details on the situation. The key isn’t so much the money in the 5th year it is how Dak can protect himself and make sure he more of his cash up front in guarantees. If you add a lot of money to the 5th year, in turn you might have to offer more in guarantees up front.
