It’s that time of the year again! EA Sports best-selling sports game, “Madden NFL,” is releasing teaser information about their pending release. This year’s rendition features the oldest skill position player in the game facing his virtual Father Time. Adrian Peterson has been the standard-bearer of longevity at the running back position.
Entering his 14th season, he has matched his career-low in terms of initial overall rating starting the season at 78 overall. Peterson responded in jest to his rating, suggesting that users could right the wrongs of the offline rating:
Ratings are based off the previous season’s performance as well as a prediction of the subsequent season. Based on that rubric, it appears the developers aren’t optimistic about Peterson’s upcoming campaign. Peterson had a solid season in 2019 amassing just under 900 yards and 5 touchdowns. However, Peterson’s decline is inevitable and it’s fair to question his effectiveness considering his production came on a team that finished last in the NFC East. Moreover, it seems likely for Peterson to have a similar year as they’ll be heavily relying on him to take the pressure off of first-year starter Dwayne Haskins.
