Black people are the most forgiving people on the planet.
Especially when it comes to white people. My question is this, if the roles were reversed would Amy have any sympathy for Christian? You know the answer to that.
Christian Cooper told the New York Times that he doesn’t want Amy Cooper to be charged, and that he won’t cooperate with the Manhattan DA.
“On the one hand, she’s already paid a steep price,” Cooper said. “That’s not enough of a deterrent to others? Bringing her more misery just seems like piling on.”
Cooper added that the DA can pursue charges “without me.”
It is certainly in Mr. Cooper’s right to feel however he wants, but just know the oppressor sees this as weakness and will empower them to keep doing what they are doing.
The only way to stop these things from happening is to make sure they are punished.
