I don’t think Andre Iguodala meant any ill will in what he was saying.
Sometimes in sports we do just ID players by their number, I’d like to think he knew what her name was since the announcers said it and just didn’t put it in his tweet. With that being said Aerial Powers does have a right to be offended by it. She went on Twitter to tell Iguodala that if he can’t say her name that he shouldn’t tweet about her.
She took it a step further in finding a 2016 article where Iguodala was going through a child support issue and allegedly said he didn’t want his daughter playing basketball because he didn’t want her to turn into a lesbian. The mother of his child at the time wanted his child support increased form $16k a month to $58k a month.
Iguodala says his comments were misconstrued and that he was only saying that he was concerned about her being bullied if she was to become a lesbian and would be more than happy to coach her if she wanted to play ball.
