An elderly Florida couple, Wallace and Beverly Fountain has been charged with 3 counts of aggravated assault after they shot at 2 Black men and a child.
Charles McMillon Jr., Kendrick Clemons, and McMillon’s 10-year-old son were shot at by the couple after they tried to return a Uhaul van.
They say that they heard the gunshots after just sitting in McMillon’s truck and McMillon says.
“It was a life-threatening situation,” McMillon told the Tallahassee Democrat. “I didn’t even know where I was going. I had my head down and I was making sure my son was covered. And I just pushed the gas to the floor. Didn’t know if I was going to hit something or not.”
The couple claimed that the reason they shot at the 3 was that people had been stealing gas from their Uhaul fleet and they wanted to put a stop to it even though they didn’t see them stealing gas.
The Fountains were released but had to give up all of their guns until the case is done.
McMillon and Clemons are also suing the couple.
