Dwight Howard’s Baby Mama Christine Vest Accuses of Howard of Not Allowing His Other Son Who Mother Passed Away to See His Grandmother

This is a very sensitive subject and Ms. Vest believes by speaking out about it there might be some legal ramifications coming her way.

The mother of one of Howard’s children Melissa Rios died suddenly and Howard took custody of his son David.

Here is what Dwight said at the time.

“I’ve had some things happen in my personal life that has been difficult to really handle,” Howard said on a video conference call. “My son’s mom, she had passed away a month and a half ago and it’s extremely difficult for me to try to understand how to talk to my son, who’s 6 years old, just about the whole situation.”

“Every moment counts,” Howard said. “Be grateful for every situation that you have, just be grateful for life. I think we also take for granted the little things and just spending time with people and stuff like that. And you know after having all these situations, it’s like, reconfirming to me just stay in the moment. Always be grateful. Always be grateful for everything you have, every little thing that happens.”

“There was no way I could not be there for my son, and even for her family,” Howard said. “I definitely would’ve felt like that would’ve been bad. She deserves and he would deserve better if I didn’t do that.”

Howard had his son with him during his time in the NBA Bubble.

Vest says she was close friends with Rios and the picture Howard is painting isn’t true.

Vest herself has a young son with Howard.

According to Vest’s Instagram account Howard has not allowed his son to have any communication with Rios’ family members and specifically his grandmother who is like a mother to Howard’s son.

There were some legal issues between Howard and the grandmother about visitation and who should have full-time custody.

Vest went really deep into the situation on her IG story and accused Howard of just leaving the boy with a baby sitter so he can party all the time.

She ended it by sharing the Grandmother’s GoFundMe that goes into length about how she just wants to see her grandson and how he has been traumatized by Dwight’s actions.

Here is a portion of that.

My grandson, David, who I have had the pleasure of raising alongside my daughter for over 6 years, has been completely ripped from my arms and prevented from seeing or speaking to me. I can remember the drive home from the hospital over 6 years ago with my daughter and sweet newborn David, yet, I haven’t been able to speak to David , see, hug, cuddle, or just tell him I love him since June 27th, 2020 (the 3 month anniversary of my daughter’s passing). My heart is aching to the point where I wake up in the middle of the night crying from the emotional and physical pain this has caused. I can only imagine what David is feeling after being subjected to a 2 month, solitary confinement with a babysitter my daughter didn’t even trust, in the state of Orlando where he had never been to prior, and away from his own father (who CHOSE to enter the NBA Bubble in July knowing he wouldn’t be allowed to take David in with him until September if he chose to participate in the rest of the NBA season) and away from me and our family and even Dwight’s family. Since July, David has been (and to this day still is) prevented from speaking to anyone he ever knew and loved before his mother passed. It’s the end of October. Is this in the best interest of the child? I strongly oppose.

It is the memory of my beloved daughter Mimi and what she wanted for David that motivates me the most to continue fighting to see my grandson and get a court order that prevents Dwight from treating my relationship with my grandson and Mimi’s legacy like a piece of dirt.

The well being of the child is the most important thing, so hopefully, it all gets straightened out.
