I said this would happen and it did.
There was no way in hell ESPN and Stephen A. Smith even though they have a pattern of attacking black male athletes who don’t like to speak to the media would do the same to Naomi Osaka. It is hypocritical, but it is smart business and ESPN understands smart business. So, they had Stephen A. Smith go out there and talk about his mental health issues and the need for empathy.
The problem is there are multiple videos of Stephen A. Smith going after Kwame, Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, Marshawn Lynch, Russell Westbrook, and more for being mentally weak and ignoring that they are human and go through things as well.
Last week after Kwame told Stephen A. Smith how his words and college tours affected his mother, his family, and his pockets, how did Stephen A. respond? Not with empathy, but by showing Kwame’s lowlights and not calling him by the name his deceased mother gave him.
Just think about it.
There is really nothing you can do about it.
Tomorrow Stephen A. will go back to doing his thing and ESPN will continue to promote it. Since most people are followers they will just go with what is being said.
The best way to make money in this business is to always play both sides of the coin and no one does it better than the worldwide leader.
Flip the page for Stephen A. Smith asking for empathy and Kwame calling him out on his hypocrisy.
