The Indiana Pacers have some decisions to make if they want to emerge next season as a NBA Playoff contender.
After losing to the Washington Wizards and missing the NBA Playoffs…Pacers backup point guard T.J. McConnell will be an unrestricted free agent.
McConnell averaged 8.6 points on 50 percent shooting from the field, 6.6 assists and finished second in steals behind Jimmy Butler with 1.9 per game per NBA.com.
NBA teams will be on the prowl this offseason to add defenders. However, the reality is backup point guards aren’t valued at a high price.
McConnell singed a two-year $7,000,000 with the Pacers and he brings energy off the bench leading the 2nd unit.
Whoever McConnell signs with or if he returns to the Pacers on a cheap if not similar deal…he’ll be valuable to the team.
