Jerry Jones is disappointed, and honestly, who can blame him? The Dallas Cowboys owner watched his team lose 24-16 to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at home. Another game, another headache for Cowboys Nation. At this point, somebody might want to check whether the team has a subscription to disappointment.
The Cowboys were supposed to give their fans something to celebrate. Instead, they handed them another reason to question everything about this team. Losing at home is never fun. Doing it while raising fresh concerns about the team’s direction makes the situation even worse.

And when you are the Dallas Cowboys, the pressure is always different. This is a franchise that loves talking about championships. Unfortunately, the team has recently given fans plenty of reasons to talk about everything except winning one.

Jones made no secret of his disappointment following the defeat.
The Dallas owner, who enjoyed tremendous success in the 1990s when the franchise won three Super Bowl titles, is now facing a very different reality. The Cowboys missed the playoffs in each of the last two seasons, and although they entered this campaign with renewed expectations, they have yet to establish themselves as legitimate contenders.
Dallas boasts an explosive offense and made adjustments to strengthen its defense, but the loss to Tampa Bay leaves the team with a 2-3 record. The result is even more concerning because the Buccaneers played without their starting quarterback, Baker Mayfield, who is injured.
From his usual suite, Jones watched as his team’s mistakes at crucial moments sealed the outcome. After the game, the Cowboys owner was asked about the team’s performance and summed up his feelings with a blunt statement.
“Extraordinarily disappointing,” Jones said after the game.
For Jones, the disappointment is understandable. For Cowboys fans, it is becoming exhausting.
The season still offers opportunities to respond, but the Cowboys need to show improvement quickly. Otherwise, the questions surrounding this team will only grow louder.
And if Dallas keeps serving up performances like this, Jerry Jones might need more than a postgame press conference. He might need a very long vacation.
